Workshop Report

May 23rd, 2010

MCF conducted a 1 day workshop on child rights in the village  of Purola with their partner organization Nav Chetna Shiksha Sansthan. 42 children along with their teachers attended the workshop which commenced with a few games so that the children could introduce and familiarize themselves with each other.

The participants of the workshop were given an insight into the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child by the MCF president.

In order to make the children understand their rights better a game was initiated where 4 trees were drawn on charts and each tree depicted one right i.e. Right to Survival, Right to Participation, Right to Development and Right to Protection. All other rights are a subset of these rights. The children discussed each right in turn and had to decide which tree it was to be hung on.
