Haridwar presents a kaleidoscope of Indian culture and civilization and is one of the seven holiest places of Hinduism.The river Ganga flows through Haridwar in a series of channels to enable the people to take a holy dip in the Ganga. Haridwar district covers an area of about 2360 km² and has a population of 1,447,187 (2001).

Group Activities:

Oct 2010: 2, two day RTI workshops on the Right to Information Act sponsored by Asha (SV) supported by MCF were conducted by the NGO PDI, in the district of Haridwar with the baal panchayats of Missarpur and Panjanhedi villages. 33 children and adults participated in the workshops and some filed RTI applications.

July 2010: The second phase of the RTI campaign sponsored by Asha (SV) commenced with a workshop in Haridwar district by MCF and their partner organisation PDI. 30 children participated in the workshop. 4 RTI applications have been filed - a first for this group of children.
